My work is broken into three distinct areas, Interiors, Commercial, Weddings.
Interior Photography
This area is my speciality and one that I love. I photograph interiors for a variety of clients. This work includes commercial interior’s such as an office or shop as well as house interiors for use in interior magazines, my work has been published in 25 Beautiful Homes, Real Homes, Build It and Select to name a few. Photographing interiors requires very specialised lens to create a natural looking perspective, combined with selective use of light; I am able to create the right ambience within the room.
Commercial Photography
Assignments are varied and include photographing new buildings to show the monthly progress, taking pictures for legal purposes, recording an event, staff portraits, products for a company website and anything else a company may need photographed. Commercial assignments more often than not require working to a specific deadline as a client may need pictures for a press release or product launch.
Case Study
With one such assignment I had to take a group photograph at a conference, the initial brief was for 90 photographs supplied in a printed folded for presentation the following morning by 12am. After I took the picture the client informed me that they now required 120 photographs. I then had to arrange for an additional 30 photographs as well as have more folders printed. This was all achieved within the deadline and the client was able to present everyone with a photograph during lunch.
Wedding Photography
Weddings are a “live” assignment, which can’t be repeated. It is important for the photographer to be early and have all the necessary equipment in working order with backups. It is also important to be relaxed and work quickly and with the minimum of fuss, it is the couple’s big day and they want to enjoy it. It is my responsibility to ensure that I capture all the important moments along with the bridal party and family groups as well as lots of candids, which capture some of the atmosphere of the day.
